Lion Investing in its Long Term Future

Lion Engineering Services of Great Yarmouth has just completed its most recent stage of investment.

Lion Engineering Services of Great Yarmouth has just completed its most recent stage of investment which includes construction of another four thousand square foot extension to their existing facilities, a new modern website and installation of our latest state of the art Mazak Integrex.

The new workshop will house some of Lion’s existing up to date Mazak CNC Mills and Lathes, which then allows for the installation of our latest acquisition, the unrivaled Mazak Integrex e-H 670 II Mill/Turnwith a 3M bed and max turning diameter of over 1M.This high accuracy Multi Axis Mill/Turn machine tool can deliver complex quality products on a scale unseen in the East Anglia Region.

Overhead cranage up to 3.5 tonnes compliments the size and scale of part we can encompass within this state of the art machine and it is backed up by our already envied inventory of top of the range Mazak Integrex, Lathes and Mills.

A brand new welfare block to ensure employees enjoy a high standard of break time facilities has also been built in unison with new offices for the ever increasing number of management/administrative staff required to maintain Lion Engineering as a quality supplier to the Oil & Gas Industry.

During the lastfour years Lion Engineering Services has invested over three million pounds in facilities, giving an extra eight thousand square ft. of floor space and some of the most advanced CNC Machines on the market.

This has ensured a proactive response to ever increasing customer demands and has safeguarded Lion Engineering’s reputation as a leader inquality machined and manufactured equipment for the offshore/onshore industry.

To ensure our Quality department can keep pace with this extra workflow, Lion have added to our already envied portfolio of inspection equipment with a brand new portable, 3D computer linked measuring arm. This has ensured a decrease in downtime required for on machine checks and a dramatic reduction in final inspection times whilst ensuring accuracy to within seven microns.

Managing Director Martin Brown stated “We are looking towards the long term future of Lion Engineering and this will not be the end of our investment. We are currently considering a new Multi axis Plasma welding machine and further Mazak Integrex Multi AxisMill/Turn models to add to our already extensive workshop capabilities.Additional new members of staff are being recruitedincluding new Purchasing/Project Staff, through to Inspection Personnel & Shop Floor Labour. This will ensure Lion Engineering continues to offer world class expertise in specialist areas, such as the medium/large sub contract manufacture of precision engineered components and the development of ’hard facing’ techniques to reduce wear on down-hole tools.”
